FEBC CHINESE RADIO-LIANG YOU RADIO
In 1948,China shut down its doors to foreign missionaries due to the power seizure of the communist party. FEBC had to move its Asian operation base to the Philippines. FEBC’s aired its first broadcasts over local station KZAS on June 4, 1948 in Manila. Overseas broadcasts to China kicked off on July 27, 1949 with support from Chinese Filipino Christians. Soon afterwards it expanded to most of Southeast Asia. By the end of 1949, FEBC broadcasted in 27 languages.(FEBC.ORG) Later, FEBC established an office in Hongkong to serve the need of christians in mainland, China. The radio missionary to China is titled Liang You Radio, which means Good Friend Radio. In 2019, Liang You Radio held a celebration to mark the 70 years' milestone in their missionary to China.Until 2021, Liang You Radio has served the needs of Chinese christians for over seven decades.And they continue to provide service to China both in mandarin, cantonese and several other minority languages.
